The financial basis of EMS activity

The worldwide EMS Fellowship finances its common concerns and projects by

• grants from member churches
• collects
• donations
• sale of products
• interest revenue

As income from German church taxes is falling, EMS member churches have had to considerably reduce their grants in the last few years. Conceivably the grants will decline even more in future.

Collections from church congregations and donations from individuals are thus becoming more and more important for EMS. Gifts instead of birthday presents, donations in gratitude for a safe trip, a share of the takings of a church bazaar, the proceeds from a youth-group charity drive – there are different ways of supporting EMS projects.
