The International EMS Women's Network

Women in the EMS churches make a decisive contribution to church life in their countries performing various diaconal and pastoral tasks. In spite of this they are often still discriminated against. Only few women have leading positions within church hierarchy. Although women are frequently victims of poverty and violence, they develop unbelievable strength and abilities. This is why women from the North and the South need encounters and contacts to learn from each other and to share their life concerns. The EMS Women and Gender Desk encourages and works for the international linking among women from 27 EMS churches and mission societies in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The publication of EMS Women’s Network OUR VOICES offers a platform to raise their voices. It is published once per year in English, German and Indonesian and is distributed to all women’s fellowships of EMS churches and mission societies. A vide variety of themes and topics is discussed.
